“My name is Abby Balmus. I was born in the island of Maui. I'm 14 years old and have been surfing for 3 years and have been competing in the Hawaii Surf Association for 2 and half years.
In 2017-2018 season I was ranked 2nd in the U14 on Maui.
In the 2018-2019 season, I was ranked 1st in both U4 and Open women division.
In 2019-2020 I am ranked 1st in Open Women division.
I'm a 2x Honolua Bay Champion.
In 2018 I made the final in the Junior Challenge States in Oahu. I was also awarded the 2018-2019 NSSA Conference Season Ranking, Open Girls 3rd and Explorer Girls 2nd in Oahu.
Today my passion is surfing big waves. My goal for this year is to surf Jaws and to land air reverses. My biggest goal is to win a Junior Pro title. I'm stoked to be part of DTH's team and I also have the support from Aquapulco Surf Team and Sharpeye surfboards.”
