Down the Hatch has it all!! Delicious food, fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great location too (very convenient – it’s at the lower level of the Wharf Cinema Center in downtown Lahaina). I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with the owners here on several occasions and they are all about the customer! Their combined years in the restaurant and hospitality business has prepared them well to deliver a remarkable dining, as well as entertaining, experience.
Personally, I’m a taco guy and at Down The Hatch they do them all right…ALL OF THEM! Shrimp, Pork, Mahi Mahi — THEY ARE ALL THE BEST. But to be honest – you really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. The burgers are big, juicy, flavorful…..The lava shrimp appetizer is off the chain!….Incredible lobster and crab grilled cheese….Really unique and delicious food items for sure!!! There’s even a Koi Pond and a Waterfall behind the bar for a totally tropical experience!
Moreover, these guys know how to have fun. Down the Hatch is always hosting great events, like their “Flip Night” where you flip a coin and call it right, and they pay half your tab! What could be more fun? Well, I’ll tell you – they have a shave ice company built into their restaurant too. Breakwall Shave Ice is super good and a great way to finish off a meal – they even offer Adult Shave Ice with your favorite adult beverage drizzled in! Great selection, and this crew has the finest mixology skills on the island! You will definitely have a great time at Down the Hatch, you will feel super welcomed, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY….you will not leave here hungry!!!!!!
