Each participant will be competing in 3 challenges.
Challenge #1 Knot tying competition, participants will be tested on 3 of the most common used knots, which will be given at the time of the competition. Speed is of the essence in this challenge.
Challenge #2 If the competitor passes the first challenge then the competitor will move to the next challenge with a series of historical nautical sailing terms, fastest to answer wins.
Challenge #3
Final Round - Creative Knots! The sailor with the most creative knot wins, 4 minutes to complete the knot.

What: Nautical Challenge involving knot tying and sea knowledge, test skills amongst Lahaina's sailors.

Les Potts is a dedicated Honolua Bay lover & spends many days collecting trash dumped in the bay area. We have joined together to get a dumpster & we need your help to fill it! Meet at the Bay parking & get ready to clean-up. Please bring gloves & wear closed toed shoes. Surfrider will have some extra gloves & reusable bags on hand. If you have a truck, that is always helpful so that we can get the rubbish to the dumpster.
DTH & Breakwall Shave Ice Co. will be providing light refreshments for volunteers at the bay, look for our tent. And The Coffee Store in Napili will provide #coffee & baked goods again.
Additionally, The Coffee Store in Napili will donate a portion of their proceeds that morning to the fundraising effort. Folks who aren’t able to be physically present at the clean-up can contribute to the cause by having a percentage of their purchase that morning to go towards the effort!

Beautifully twisted. This world, this life, the people, their stories, I believe we all experience extremely beautiful and extremely twisted things in this life. We are all unique and individual. As cliche as this phrase sounds this is the concept in which I base my aspiring art. Each and every piece is 100% original. Growing up In the county and living on Maui for 10 years my western roots and current Hawaiian lifestyle has been an influence on all my creations. I use acrylic canvases, real feathers (parrot/ pheasant), jewelry, stones, wire wrap, barb wire, long horns, skulls(deer, bull, elk, goat) , flowers, shells, driftwood and more to Dzine an eclectic variety of decor for anyone or any home. Assistance Dogs of Hawaii (ADH) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has provided professionally trained Assistance Dogs for children and adults with disabilities in Hawaii since 2000. ADH is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International and has a main campus on Maui and an office on Oahu. ADH places Assistance Dogs and provides lifetime follow-up support free of charge thanks to generous support from individuals, businesses and foundations.

Service Dogs, Hospital Facility Dogs, Courthouse Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Seizure Response Dogs and Guide/Hearing Dogs are all part of the ADH program. Their Community Outreach Program includes dogs for Veterans and victims of PTSD, Paws for Reading Program and medical research studies which are proving that animals can be used to detect life threatening conditions - bacterial infections and early stages of cancer.
