Earth Day 2023 Olowalu Clean Up

  • Down the Hatch & Breakwall Shave Ice Co. 658 Front Street Lahaina, HI, 96761 (map)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Olowalu Coastline Clean Up

Saturday, April 22nd

9a-12p

Here at Down the Hatch, we take extra measures every day to ensure we keep our carbon footprint as small as possible. When you’re surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it’s a daily reminder that how you treat Mother Nature truly does matter!

Earth Day is the perfect day to pay respect to Planet Earth - So this year we are partnering with Surfrider Foundation - Maui Chapter and Pacific Whale Foundation along with our sister restaurants: Breakwall Shave Ice Co., Mala Ocean Tavern & Duckine for an epic Olowalu Coastline Clean-Up!

Organizations like Regenerative Education Centers and Living Earth Systems are doing the most to bring awareness by providing clear call to actions and educational material along with getting their own hands dirty to serve the local communities of Hawai’i Nei and beyond.

Remember, sharing information and spreading the word is another way to contribute not only on Earth Day but every day. Click the links below to check out all of the amazing projects they’ve got going on right now.

While we hope y’all will join us at our pre-planned site, we’re also encouraging anyone island wide to partake in their own beach clean-up, at whatever beach they choose. To dispose of any rubbish you collect, dumpsters will be provided at Regenerative Education Centers Olowalu (located near the Olowalu Recycling Center - look for the Surfrider flags). We just ask that you please take a photo of your clean up and post on social media, tagging @surfrider when applicable, to further help spread the word!
